Peer Editing!

Rough Draft Day!

Details for Peer Editing:
  • Join a group if you aren't already in one.
  • Share your paper through Google Docs with each other
  • Run through this checklist with every paper in your group.

1. Read and make corrections for spelling, grammar, sentence structure, etc.

2. Highlight thesis/claim. Was it clear and supported in paper? Make a comment about what they can improve

3. Intro--does it introduce book, author, them, and their story? Does it include a quote?  What can make the intro stronger? Make a comment about any of these things.

4.  Body Paragraphs--
    Make comments about the flow and structure of the story
    What is effective? Be specific!
    What is ineffective? Be specific!

5. Conclusion--does it tie back around to Huck and make a connection between them and Huck? Does it have a quote? Make a comment about what can make their conclusion stronger and what you liked.

6. Overall--
    Make a comment about one thing you liked overall. BE SPECIFIC
    Make a comment about one thing that would make it better. BE SPECIFIC.

Wednesday, 2.18: Begin work on Huck paper!

Today, we're going to start working on the Huck Finn paper by looking for quotes and beginning to organize. I've divided you into groups. EACH group member needs to find a quote that shows the theme assigned. Make sure you include each chapter breakdown. Copy the text directly onto your Padlet, and make sure you include page numbers AND your name.
