Thursday, 8.28: Quiz!

Today is the Native American/explorers/settlers quiz. If you are absent, please make a time with me as soon as possible.

Today:

You need to enroll in Google classroom. Go to Google Classroom and if you are new, set up a new account. Let me know know if you need help with this step.

That's it! I will still use this blog for infomation/updates, but will use Google Classroom to share documents/collect documents. You can see a link to Google Classroom in the upper right of the blog.

8/22: La Relacion

Please follow these directions carefully. If you don't follow directions and I don't receive your assignment, it's a zero.

Today you'll be reading La Relacion in class. Here are the directions:

1, Open and make a copy of this document

2. Change the name at top to your name

3. Share the URL with me at this link.  MAKE SURE YOU CHANGE YOUR SHARE SETTINGS   SO I CAN EDIT IT TO GRADE IT!!!!

Directions for in class:
1. Read the whole first-hand account by de Vaca first.
2. Go through and answer as a comment the questions I've posed. Click on my comment, and then click "reply"
3. Take your time--don't rush through
4. Don't be distracted by other people and your computer...stay on Google Docs and read the story.
5. Must be finished by end of the hour.

First, a little paperwork:

1. Go to www.turnitin.com  and set up a new account. I would highly advise using your school login and password to make it easier to remember.

Enroll in the correct class on www.turnitin, using the following code:

2. Go to www.classzone.com and set up a new account.
    Use the same username/password combination you did for turnitin.com

    Activate the textbook using this code: 3119591-20
    For this point forward, you should be able to log on to textbook without needing this code again.

STOP: Raise your hand and let Higgins make sure you have put in the access code.

First assignment... I AM

For your first assignment, you need to create an "I am" presentation to share with the class on Friday.

Options to choose from:

5. Powtoon

Requirements to include:
1. Your name
2. Hobbies
3. Favorite song
4.  Sports/clubs/organizations involved with
5. Something you did this summer
6. Favorite quote/saying
7. Pets?

Be creative! Don't just say, "my favorite song is..." That's boring!
